Bells Corners East is home to the popular neighborhood called Lynwood Village, built in the late fifties and early sixties. It is one of the first examples of tract housing in Ottawa. To the west of Lynwood Village is Westcliffe Estates, a growing community of over 1600 homes. The Westcliffe community features significantly higher housing densities than other parts of Bells Corners. There is a housing complex operated by Nepean Housing as well as a multi-storey senior home and co-operative living project. Bells Corners is also the home of Bellwood Mobile Home Park, consisting of 250 homes and a large mix of condos, single family and townhomes.
Bells Corners is well known for the commercial strip along Robertson Road, which is busy with car-oriented retail uses, gas stations and fast food restaurants. As a result of the residential development in Kanata, Robertson Road is now used as a major route for Kanata residents travelling to and from work in Ottawa. The daily traffic can cause serious traffic congestion.
