Centrepointe is a newer subdivision in the west/central part of the city. Developed from 1985 onwards, it is bordered by Baseline Road to the north, Woodroffe Avenue to the east, the CN railroad to the south. Housing in the area includes many detached homes, with the remainder being townhomes and terrace homes.
The area was developed by Minto after the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation failed to encourage development early on after purchasing the former farmland. Plenty of parks, schools, churches, shops and services make Centrepointe a great area for families. Its proximity to Baseline Station also makes it an easy commute to most points in the city. Routes 118, 119, 179, 668, 873 and 891 all stop at convenient points throughout Ottawa.
