Beacon Hill is located to the North East of Downtown. It’s name comes from a lighthouse in the Ottawa River. Ski Hill Park and Loyola Park, among others, provide plenty of winter recreation space and nice play areas in the summer.
A well established bilingual community, Beacon Hill has plenty of schools, including Le Phare Elementary, Robert Hopkins Elementary, Henry Munro Middle School, Colonel By Secondary School, Ecole Elementaire Publique La Verendrye, Ecole Elementaire Publique Seraphin –Marion, and Thomas D’Arcy McGee Catholic School.
Beacon Hill real estate and its sister communities of Cardinal Heights and Beaconwood are home to many older single family homes, although there is an abundance of condo townhomes and apartments for sale at any given time. The condos are spread between Ogilvie and Montreal Road and were primarily built in the 1970’s and 80’s.
